Making caramelized onions take time, but if you do it right, the result is sweet and velvety and completely unbeatable. Well, not entirely unbeatable. A splash of balsamic vinegar makes caramelized onions incredibly tangy and even more flavorful!

4 oz butter

4 onions, sliced

Sea salt and pepper

2 T Tasteful Olive's Traditional or Fig Balsamic Vinegar

Be prepared with a skillet that has a lid. Put the skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter.

Once melted, add the onions and a healthy pinch of salt and pepper. Cook onions until they start to turn brown (about 8 minutes).

Lower the heat to medium-low and cover the skillet. Cook for at least 45 minutes or until the onions are brown and very sweet. You can cook the onions for up to 90 minutes if you want and have the time.

Once you are satisfied with the onions, add the Balsamic Vinegar and stir. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes and serve!
