Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.


1 C butter, softened

1 C Tasteful Olive Orange Fusion Olive Oil*

1 C white sugar

1 C powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla

2 eggs

1 tsp baking soda

4 C white flour

1 tsp cream of tartar

1 tsp salt

Sugar Mixture portion of recipe -- see below:

* UseTasteful Olive's Raspberry or Dark Cocoa natural cane sugar for the "sugar mixture" portion below when you use the Blood Orange olive oil.


Variation: You can also use a mild olive oil from The Tasteful Olive and then use the Espresso or Cinnamon natural cane sugar (available also at The tasteful Olive) for the "sugar mixture" portion. Or find another cane sugar of your liking!


Sugar Mixture: In small bowl, combine one T. granulated sugar and two T. Tasteful Olive's natural cane sugar, flavored.

Directions: Thoroughly cream oil, butter and sugars. Add vanilla and eggs. Sift all dry ingredients together and sitr into mixture. Chill dough at least one hour (or keep refrigerated and use as needed). When ready to prepare for baking, roll 1 tsp into a ball for each cookie. Place onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Dip the bottom of a small glass into the sugar mixture and press it down about halfway onto the ball of dough. Sprinkle generously with with more of the flavored natural cane sugar you chose. Bake for 12 minutes. Makes about 8 dozen. Cookies will be crisp, not chewy.
